My Golf Tournament Thiruvananthapuram 2010 Open

I had gone to Thiruvananthapuram for a golf tournament - the South Zone Junior Golf. Visit their website: http://www.szjuniorgolf.in/ . This is the first time I am playing a tournament out of Bangalore. We went by bus to Thiruvananthapuram. It was a 14 hour journey. For my other tournament blogs click here or here.
Day 1 (When we reached Thiruvananthapuram) (Friday, 17th December 2010):
We got out of the bus and took all our luggage. Then we looked for an auto-rickshaw. We found an auto-rickshaw. Then we came and checked in to the tennis club of Thiruvananthapuram. Then my father and I got ready to eat our breakfast. Then we went to have our breakfast. For breakfast we had omelette, bread and coffee. Then we went back to our room and got my golf bag and headed towards the golf club. We went by auto-rickshaw to the golf club. Over there we first met the captain of the club. Then we registered for the tournament. Then I played 9 holes with one of my friends who had come from Bangalore. It was very hot and humid in Thiruvananthapuram. So it was very tiring to play. It was more difficult than the golf clubs in Bangalore. Then I rested for a while and then we took an auto-rickshaw back to the tennis club. Here are a few pictures.

After that we came back to our room. My father slept but I typed my blog. I typed so much that now I have finished typing till what had done till 2:54 p.m!

At 3:30 p.m we left back to the golf club. We had to go there because we had to listen to all the rules of that particular golf course. The manager of South Zone (SZ) told us all the rules and asked us if we had any questions. After that we came back to our room. I ate apple while my father went to get some food for our dinner. That time I wrote everything of what I did from 2:54 p.m to 7:00 p.m.

After that I watched TV for a short while. On TV I watched golf and a cartoon called Phineas and Ferb. After that my father came back. He had brought pizzas from Dominos! So I ate pizza then had bath and then slept.

Day 2 (The Tournament Round 1) Saturday, 18 December 2010

I woke up at 5:30 a.m. I brushed my teeth and then had bread and jam for breakfast. After that I had my bath. Then I started to add more stuff for my blog. I have now finished typing about all that I did till 18-12-2010, 06:28:15 a.m. At 7:00 a.m we left for the golf course. We reached there are 7:10. We practised for a while. Then at 7:30 we took our first shot (teed off). My game was good. After 21/2 hours we finished our game (nine holes). Then we just verified our scores and then submitted our scores. Then I sat down in the club-house for soemtime. Then we came back to our room. Then I typed all what I had done till 10:12 a.m. After that we were free till 12:30 p.m. So we went to a cyber cafe to do some work. Here is a picture of me in the cyber cafe:

After that we went back to the golf club to have lunch. I ate ghee rice and papad. After that I played on a swing in the park (golf course). Then it was time to go back. Then I came back to the room. At 3:30 p.m went to the zoo. There were many animals and it was a long walk. I liked it since I could take many photos. After a while when we were resting there was a small hill like thing that was tough to climb. I climbed it. Here are a few pictures of the zoo:

After the zoo we went to Dominos Pizza. I ate a pizza called farmhouse and I drank coco-cola. Then we came back to our room and then I slept.

Day 3 (Tournament Round 2, winners and back to Bangalore) Sunday, 19 December 2010

I woke up at 5:00 a.m. My tee-off time was at 7:30 a.m. I woke up brushed my teeth and had my bath. I ate half a banana and then had half a guava. Since I had not blogged yesterday (Day 2) I blogged about it also.

At 6:40 we left to the golf club. We reached there at 6:50 a.m. Then I practised a little and had my breakfast over there. For breakfast I had idli and sambhar. At 7:30 a.m we teed-off. My game was good. I took 52 shots (They are known as strokes).
After that I rested for little time then we checked out of our hotel. We left the bags in the tennis club and then went to a shop to buy banana chips. After that we went to the cycber cafe. Over there I typed my blog. At 1:45 we left back to the golf club to receive our prizes.
At 7.00pm we took the bus back to Bangalore.

  4. Dear lil mairpady, some people forget about who ate banana chips all by themselves. We can remind them by not taking any kind of chips ever again for them. What say?

The Great Omani Coastal Route

Route 15 : Muscat-Nizwa The parents, seemingly forever, had been planning a trip to Oman. Why Oman? Well, that’s a question I asked myself too. My dad, in the 90s, spent close to a decade in the UAE but barring a work trip, had never visited Oman. Fast forward to the 21 st   century, countless Oman Air flights from India to Europe later, he found himself stranded in Muscat. A ‘technical difficulty’ they said. He visited the Sultan Qaboos Mosque but didn’t get to see much more – it was only a 24-hour layover. However, the constant propaganda he was subjected to via the in-flight entertainment, and the cabin crew he made conversation with, convinced him that the country has a lot to offer. A friend from the UAE, who spoke highly of Oman, apparently also played a role.     The parents had their mind set on Oman. The stars aligned and clubbing together a bunch of bank holidays in India, they decided on visiting in April. Unfortunately, or fortunately (the jury is still out), ...

My Peculiar Dream

I had a dream last night. In my dream we had gone to Mangalore. In Mangalore, my mother, grandmother and I went out somewhere (I do not know where!!). Then my sister suddenly came on a cycle out of nowhere! Since the road was bumpy my mother told her to go back home by cycle. She went home. Then my grandmother started to drive the car without a licence! Then my mother said if the police asks us for the license my mother would give her licence! (I know that you cannot do that in real life). Then we reached home. Afterwards we were chatting and I said, "Look! our car registration numbers have changed!" All our car registration numbers had changed from Karnataka to Andhra Pradesh. Then on a small cycle came my cousin calling me by my pet name. But actually that was my mother waking me up!!

Sustainable Bitcoin Mining

Source Bitcoin mining has become popular amongst people with large data processors and also fintech-geeks who are interested in the world of mining. Mining is at times not very profitable due to the increase in complexity of problems given to miners (as more and more Bitcoins are mined) and electricity and other expensive overheads. According to NZ Herald , "Bitcoin mining uses so much energy that it could cause blackouts". The repercussions due to this is that an American city known as Platssburgh has already banned cryptocurrency mining for 18 months and Iceland believes that more energy will be used to mine Bitcoin rather than power their houses this year! The need for a sustainable model for mining is prevalent. With the introduction of cloud mining, many "non-techy" users have been able to mine Bitcoins by buying Hash power from various companies and making them mine Bitcoins for you. All you need to do is invest a particular amount and leave the rest of...

Ather Energy - Electric Scooters that compete with Aprilias and Vespas

Ather Energy, a Bengaluru based start up created by former IITians finally unveiled their electric scooters - Ather 340 and the Ather 450. Priced slightly on the higher side at INR 1.09 L and 1.24L (on road - Bengaluru) including the FAME subsidy and all taxes, the scooters are exciting and a must try for scooter buyers who do not mind shelling out a little more money than a mid-range scooter would cost and do not mind using it primarily for short distance commutes. Ather 450 Their showroom is located on 100ft Road in Indiranagar. You can visit them at any time and their staff is extremely accomadating and will help you with any queries that you may have. If there is not too much of a crowd, they will allow you to take a test ride too. Ather opened their showroom today (8th, June, 2018). I visited them and was mighty pleased with what they were doing. In an interesting conversation with Mr. Swapnil Jain , the humble and down to earth Co-Founder and CTO, I learnt a lot abo...

What I did on my 1 day holiday

On 16 of February 2011 there was a holiday, since it was the festival of "Id". I played with my sister and her friends. We played badminton first. After that we got found a few seeds and put them in a pot that was abandoned. We also put leaves. Then we put a lot of water into the pot and then mixed it. While we had gone to the jogging track my friend stayed back. Once we came back my friend told me that while we had gone a cat had come smashed the pot and ran away.

My New Bent Cycle Mirror

First read my other blog My New Cycle Mirror then come to this blog One day my father and I wanted to go cycling outside our apartment. If we go cycling we usally go to the outskirts of our city. To get to the outskirts, we put our cycle in our car boot. But when we put my cycle in the car, the mirror was too tall and the cycle did not fit in the car. So we got the rod a little lower and turned the direction of the rod. Now the cycle fits in the car. After cutting the rod I painted the rod!! Here is how the cycle mirror looks.
